The Story of SEEQ

As someone who grew up taking protein powder on the daily, I always disliked the thick and milky texture of traditional protein shakes. Not to mention, I never actually looked forward to drinking them after any activity. They just weren't refreshing, so I set out to create my own. 

I was nearing my college graduation in the spring of 2020 when covid hit. Instead of pursuing mechanical engineering, I decided to go all in on this idea of a juicy, refreshing, clear protein.  

Throughout the very start of quarantine in 2020, I spent countless hours researching, subjecting my family and friends to blind taste tests, as well as working with food scientists to get the taste and texture just right. Through that process, I met my co-founder Hannah.

About a year and half later on October 16th, 2021, we officially launched SEEQ with two juicy flavors: Strawberry Splash and Mango Pineapple.

When we launched, we had over 4,000 bottles of protein packed to the rim in my parents house. Our living room turned into a shipping station assembly line with the whole family on board. 

Shoutout mom and dad for letting me store 8,000lbs of protein in their house 😅

We quickly started to gain traction on TikTok and sold out of those 4,000+ units in just one month...

It turns out Mark Cuban's son was a big fan as well. He ordered a bottle and got Mark to make a TikTok about it, rating Strawberry Splash a perfect 10/10!

Unfortunately after selling out our entire stock and getting the Mark Cuban stamp of approval, it was time to say goodbye to shipping out of my parents living room.

A few months later we moved into our first warehouse and received a shipment of over 38 pallets of protein!

We figured surely 38 pallets of protein would be enough to finally be able to stay in stock.

but it turns out we were very wrong...

These pallets didn't even last a week in our warehouse before we were completely sold out again.

With all the early support we received, we figured it was time to step it up and launch a third flavor: Blue Razz Freeze

We did a big livestream on launch day and to our surprise ended up completely selling out of Blue Razz in just 6 hours...

 

 

So we decided to run it back and come out with another new flavor just a few months later: Homemade Lemonade. 

 

 We really stepped up our flavor launch strategy. To build up the hype, we got some custom Lemonade shoes made for the whole team and hosted the largest protein lemonade stand in Minnesota.

 

 

Shortly after the Lemonade drop, we celebrated one full year in business by throwing a SEEQ birthday party.

and you guessed it, released another new flavor: Tropical Punch 😏🌴

 

After recovering from the one year celebration (From all the protein we drank of course), we wasted no time starting to prepare for our first Black Friday Sale ever.

 

We saw over 4000 first time customers come through from the sale so if you're one of those people reading this right now, I hope you're enjoying your protein 😎

 

As I'm writing this, we're currently planning all the crazy ideas that we have in store for 2023 and we can't wait to share them all with you guys.

To hopefully inspire others out there to be great both in and out of the gym.
